Tooth Replacement

Missing teeth can be a source of frustration and embarrassment. You have to deal with an obvious gap in your smile, and it may be difficult to eat your favorite foods and speak clearly.

Replacing your teeth is good for both your overall health and your appearance. A missing tooth that isn’t replaced is unattractive, but it can gradually change the structure of your jaw, affecting your bite and your ability to chew and speak properly. Over time, your face will begin to take on a sunken appearance in the area of the missing tooth.

Our goal is to provide you with a range of options so that you can choose the one that works best for all your needs. We're pleased to offer several methods for tooth replacement that are very effective for solving the problem of missing teeth.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a replacement tooth. It consists of a tiny titanium post that is embedded into your jawbone and held beneath your gum line. The implant replaces the root of your missing tooth. Dental implants are specially prepared to allow the bone cells of your jaw to grow close to the implant and attach to it. A crown, bridge, or denture will later be attached to the implant to create a new, functioning tooth.

Dental implants also help to prevent the loss of bone in your jaw, which begins to happen when you lose a tooth in that area. The dental implant will help keep your jaw healthy as it promotes regeneration of bone tissue

Full and Partial Dentures

You may be surprised to know that new dentures can actually dramatically improve your appearance. Over time, missing teeth can cause your face to wrinkle and sag, but Dr. Parikh can design a set of dentures that will take years off your appearance and change your life.

Dentures are prosthetic devices that replace missing teeth. They can be made from acrylic, plastic, or metal, and they restore your ability to smile, eat, and speak again with confidence. For the ultimate in stability, we can incorporate dental implants to hold your dentures securely in place.

When choosing dentures, you have a number of options. Maybe you’re considering dentures for the first time, or perhaps your older dentures don’t fit properly and need replacing. Depending on the number and type of teeth missing, we will help you make a decision about which type is best for you.

Fixed Bridges

A bridge is a restoration that fills the empty space that remains after a tooth is lost. Dental bridges are used to restore function and improve your appearance by filling the empty space left by a missing tooth. In most cases, we design a fixed bridge using two dental crowns that are secured to neighboring teeth, and an artificial tooth that fills the gap. Fixed bridges can also be fabricated using two or more dental implants, if natural teeth are not present in the area.

Considerate Care and Attention to Detail

We understand that having any type of dental restoration placed means an investment of time and money on your part. You should be completely happy with the outcome because your new crown or bridge will last for many years with proper care.

Whatever the current state of your oral health, we welcome the opportunity to show you the difference that attention to detail and considerate care can make. Please contact our East Brunswick dental office for more information or to schedule a convenient consultation.
